Transfer Students

Transfer students are those who have already attended any other universities or colleges. Whether you've taken a few classes or are far along in your studies somewhere else, you can do more at the University of Utah. If you have earned fewer than 30 semester credits after high school, we still welcome your application to the U. Your application will follow guidelines for freshman applicants, which includes high school transcripts and ACT or SAT test scores.

Transfer Admission Requirements

Admission is based on a combination of your transfer grade-point average and course work. Review our Undergraduate Areas of Study to review the requirements associated with a specific degree program, or select the college in which you plan to seek a degree...

Transfer Planning Resources

These guides provide important advice on what to take prior to transferring including information on prerequisites, general education requirements and competitive admission majors. They were developed so that students can more easily plan for the future, take appropriate courses, transfer at the right time and get connected earlier with appropriate faculty and staff.

Transfer Policies

Courses completed at colleges and universities accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, or similar regional associations, are acceptable for transfer to the University of Iowa. If your course work was completed at a school not regionally accredited, the recommendations by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers or the American Council on Education will be used.
